Building Appeal
Where is SKIDZ?
At present it is in rented workshops in High Wycombe – the same place it has been since it started over 11 years ago.
What are we planning to do?
Trustees want to purchase self-contained premises in the area so that we no longer have to pay rent and have security for the future of this successful charity.
What are the benefits?
We will be able to offer an improved service for young people with a much wider range of opportunities, and in better facilities. The charity will be more financially viable, have security of tenure and be able to invest for a stronger future.
How much do we need to raise?
Just a cool £1million! That figure should purchase the property and allow funds for modifications to include classrooms, workshops and offices. It also includes contingency funding, legal and moving costs.
How will we raise it?
We have several grant applications in place and have confirmation of loans and/or a mortgage available to support the purchase. We will be able to repay the loan from savings on rental charges.
How can you help?
Donations, grants, gifts in kind are always a first call. However, there are other ways too and we would love to talk to you about these options.
What is in it for you or your company?
Your name in lights on the building! Your name on the classroom or workshop of your choice, a plaque on the wall of the new building, or your name in our Book of Benefactors. As well there is the opportunity for publicity (or anonymity if you prefer), and an ongoing link to a successful and thriving charity that will provide you with a “feel good” factor with the knowledge of the contribution you have made to hundreds of young people in giving them increased opportunities for a brighter future. If that is not enough there is the added bonus of being able to claim tax relief for your donations to a charity.
Who should I contact?
Please phone SKIDZ on 01494 550008 and speak to Steve Godfrey or Liz Hutton; alternatively send an e-mail to either of us on steve@skidz.org.uk or liz@skidz.org.uk. A visit to our web site will give you some more information too. Come and visit us and talk through the options without any obligations; we would love to hear from you.
